Indian stocks brace for Q1 FY27 earnings amid geopolitical and oil jitters
About 25 companies, including AU Small Finance Bank and IDFC First Bank, are set to report on Saturday, July 25, as the Nifty 50 slid for a fifth straight session.
LiveMint says around 25 companies are scheduled to announce Q1 FY27 earnings on Saturday, July 25, including AU Small Finance Bank, IDFC First Bank, Zen Technologies, and Vedant Fashions. Investors are expected to focus not only on reported numbers, but also on management commentary covering business outlook, demand trends, profit growth, and dividend announcements.
The earnings window arrives as Indian equities remain under pressure. LiveMint reports that the Nifty 50 fell 0.43% to settle at 23,767 on Friday, July 24, extending a five-session decline, while the BSE Sensex dropped 0.43% to close at 76,408.
On a weekly basis, both indices fell more than 2.5%, marking their steepest weekly drop in four months, according to LiveMint. The pressure is tied to escalating US-Iran war tensions, rising crude oil prices, and increasing bond yields.
Geopolitical risks continued to weigh on sentiment, with LiveMint citing a Middle East conflict that has entered its 13th consecutive day and reports that Yemeni Houthi fighters attacked two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, disrupting a key shipping route. Crude oil prices were also described as elevated, up nearly 15% in the prior week and on track for another double digit weekly gain, raising concerns about inflation and global growth.
