Tesla expands robotaxi service to Orlando and Tampa in Florida
The expansion brings Tesla Robotaxi availability to seven US cities ahead of the company’s Q2 earnings, which featured revenue growth but an earnings and margin drop.
Tesla has expanded its robotaxi service to two additional cities in Florida, adding Orlando and Tampa after launching in Miami earlier in the month, according to coverage by Yahoo Finance.
Riders can access Tesla’s Model Y vehicles through the Tesla Robotaxi app, and the service is now available in seven US cities, including Austin, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and San Francisco.
The update arrived ahead of Tesla’s Q2 2026 earnings report, which combined a revenue beat with weaker profitability. Total revenue rose 26% year over year to $28.2 billion, with core automotive revenue up 23% to $20.5 billion, while services and energy revenue increased to $4.6 billion and $3.1 billion.
Despite the top line strength, Tesla reported earnings of $0.33 per share, down 18% year over year and below the $0.53 consensus estimate, and gross margins fell to 16.8% from 17.2% a year earlier. Operating expenses rose to $4.3 billion, and free cash flow turned negative at -$1.1 billion, even as management guided for more than $25 billion in capital expenditures expected in 2026.
