WS Amati Global Innovation Fund highlights PTC as AI-linked winner
PTC closed at $118.52 a share on July 24, 2026, the fund said, despite shares down 41.9% over the prior 52 weeks.
WS Amati Global Innovation Fund, a UK-based equity management firm, released its second quarter 2026 investor letter and pointed to PTC Inc. as a software provider it views as benefiting from the AI-driven investment cycle, according to Yahoo Finance. The letter says market performance in the quarter was shaped by geopolitical conflict and enthusiasm for AI, with major investments across AI, including chip-related and data centre buildouts. It adds that while investors have shown skepticism toward software and IT services due to fears of automation, the fund expects longer-term demand growth for specialized providers. In the Q2 2026 update, WS Amati highlighted PTC Inc., describing the company as a global software business that provides enterprise and industrial software for managing the product development lifecycle. The fund also cited PTC’s July 24 closing price of $118.52 per share and a market capitalization of $13.69 billion, noting the stock rose 4.1% over one month but fell 41.9% over the past 52 weeks. The investor letter argues that specialist software used in regulated industries is hard to replicate and that PTC, along with other foundational vendors, is adopting AI to improve its offerings and customer efficiency, framing recent market drawdowns as creating what it calls an attractive opportunity.
