FOMC meets July 28-29, with decisions due Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET

CME FedWatch puts the odds of an increase at about 36%, even as the Fed is expected to hold the federal funds rate steady.

The Federal Open Market Committee is scheduled to meet July 28-29, according to Yahoo Finance. The FOMC is assessing the state of the economy and whether to adjust the federal funds rate.

After the meeting ends, the policy decision is set to be released Wednesday at 2 p.m. Eastern time, followed by the Fed chair news conference at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time, with the chair’s press conference livestreamed and recorded.

Yahoo Finance also notes that minutes from regularly scheduled meetings are released three weeks after the policy decision.

While the outlet says the Fed is expected to keep the federal funds rate steady, CME Group’s FedWatch tool estimates a roughly 36% chance of a rate increase due to ongoing inflationary pressure.
