Mediation hopes on U.S.-Iran peace lifted stocks, eased oil and yields

Mortgage-backed securities rose about 0.16% as the 10-year Treasury yield fell roughly 4.1 basis points to 4.613 after the report.

Mortgage News Daily reports that Israeli media said U.S. and Iran mediators are getting closer to re-implementing an earlier memorandum of understanding tied to more durable peace.

The shift in war sentiment was reflected in markets, with stocks lifting and oil prices and bond yields dipping, according to Mortgage News Daily.

Mortgage-backed securities were indicated higher by about 5 ticks, or 0.16%, while the 10-year Treasury yield was quoted down about 4.1 basis points to 4.613.

In follow-through trading, Mortgage News Daily said MBS were also shown up around 9 ticks, or 0.28%, as the 10-year yield was around 4.599, with levels largely held into after-hours.
