Nasdaq-100 hovers near correction as semiconductors slide
Semiconductor stocks are pulling the Nasdaq-100 toward correction territory, according to MarketWatch, as the latest selloff adds pressure after the index and the broader market hit record highs earlier this year.
MarketWatch reports the tech slump comes after semiconductors helped lift major indexes such as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite, but semis are now taking another beating.
The renewed weakness in the semiconductor complex is keeping the Nasdaq-100 close to a technical correction level as investors reassess momentum in the sector.
