Prediction markets raise odds for a public OpenAI GPT-6 by late September
Odds for a GPT-6 release by September 30 climbed to around 78%, with Polymarket trading volume on the bet reaching about $731,000.
Money is moving toward a late September bet on OpenAI’s next major model, with prediction market traders lifting their estimates for a public GPT-6 release by September 30, according to Decrypt.
Price data cited by Decrypt shows traders put the odds of a September 30 release at around 78%, up over the last 24 hours on both Polymarket and Myriad.
On Polymarket, Decrypt reports the GPT-6 market generated roughly $731,000 in trading volume, about $32,000 higher than the previous indexed snapshot, and the “released by” contract for September 30 rose to 77%.
On Myriad, Decrypt says odds for a September release are similarly up to 77%, compared with 64% last week, while OpenAI has not announced GPT-6 or any release date and its current flagship is GPT-5.6 Sol, released July 9.
