RiverStone International signs second LPT with Lyft captive insurer
The reinsurance agreement takes effect July 1, 2026, as RiverStone continues expanding its legacy run off reinsurance presence in North America.
RiverStone International has signed a second loss portfolio transfer, or LPT, reinsurance agreement with Pacific Valley Insurance Company, a wholly owned captive insurance subsidiary of ride sharing company Lyft, according to Reinsurance News.
The new transaction is set to be effective July 1, 2026, and follows RiverStone’s first LPT deal with Pacific Valley in March 2025 that covered a commercial auto liability portfolio.
RiverStone said the repeat deal builds on its existing relationship with Pacific Valley and Lyft, citing support for Lyft’s risk management and capital optimization objectives and highlighting the role of long term partnerships in the legacy market.
Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, part of Marsh, was named broker of record for the transaction, the outlet added.
