Swiss Re names Benjamin Savill CEO for Australia and New Zealand
The appointment takes effect October 1, 2026, and Savill will replace Trent Thomson, who moved to Swiss Re’s Global Head of Specialty Reinsurance role earlier this year.
Swiss Re has appointed Benjamin (Ben) Savill as Chief Executive Officer for its Australia and New Zealand operations, based in Sydney.
The change is set to take effect October 1, 2026, and remains subject to regulatory approvals, according to Reinsurance News.
Savill succeeds Trent Thomson, who was appointed earlier this year as Swiss Re’s Global Head of Specialty Reinsurance.
The insurer said Savill brings nearly three decades of experience, including most recently serving as CEO for Pacific at Guy Carpenter, and earlier roles at Convex Insurance and Fidelis Insurance.
