Night View Capital calls Salesforce a key AI system-of-record play
The investor letter said Salesforce closed at $173.60 on July 27 and cited its customer data as fuel for AI sales and service agents.
Night View Capital, an investment management firm, highlighted Salesforce as part of its view that AI deployment in corporate environments will be broadly beneficial, despite recent declines in software stock prices.
In its second quarter 2026 investor letter, Night View argued that the current “software panic of 2026” looks temporary, and that resilient software businesses are likely to adapt by embracing AI rather than being disrupted permanently.
The firm pointed to Salesforce’s role as a system of record, saying the platform holds customer relationships and that this data can support AI sales and service agents deployed within the same environment.
The letter also referenced Salesforce’s recent performance and scale, noting the company closed at $173.60 per share on July 27, while the stock was up 17.6% over one month and down 31.1% over the past 52 weeks, with a market capitalization of $142.8 billion.
