Consilium Singapore unit wins MAS broking license and hires Ben Compton
The Monetary Authority of Singapore has granted Consilium’s Singapore office a broking license, supporting its plan to expand facultative reinsurance coverage across Asia Pacific.
Global specialty re/insurance broker Consilium has appointed Ben Compton as Associate Partner to its Cedent Facultative Risk Solutions team in Singapore. The Singapore unit has also been granted a broking license by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Compton joins the team with more than a decade of experience, most recently serving as Vice President for Property, Political Violence, and Terrorism Placement at Marsh, and previously holding roles in carrier management and insurer relationships at JLT Group.
He joins Robert Drysdale, who leads the Singapore office and joined the broker earlier this year. Consilium said the hire and the new license are intended to support growth in the broker’s facultative reinsurance range by expanding both class and territory, with the Singapore team acting as a single access point for clients across Asia Pacific to global reinsurance markets.
Consilium also said the Singapore team combines its technical capabilities with AI and technology-driven broker enablement from its proprietary ecosystem, ATOMX, to deliver facultative reinsurance solutions, while drawing on its Cedent Facultative Risk Solutions division in London.
