Ethereum Foundation appoints SEAL 911 co-founder to its board
The four-member board, which includes Vitalik Buterin and others, oversees whether management decisions align with the Foundation’s privacy and security priorities.
Cointelegraph reports that the Ethereum Foundation has appointed Pascal Caversaccio, known as pcaversaccio, a co-founder and lead of crypto security response group SEAL 911, to its board.
Caversaccio joins President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, and Swiss counsel Patrick Storchenegger on the Foundation’s four-member board for an initial one-year term, which the outlet says he accepted voluntarily.
According to Cointelegraph, the Foundation described the board as a security council for protecting its mission and ensuring compliance as a Swiss foundation, and it also said Caversaccio is a longtime Ethereum contributor and a member of its Silviculture Society.
The appointment comes as the Foundation gives privacy and security a larger role in its protocol strategy, including describing them as non-negotiable protocol guarantees and saying it will work to translate research such as layer-1 privacy and post-quantum security into changes that preserve Ethereum’s self-sovereignty.
