Unilever ends Marmite supply in Singapore, leaving fans facing shortages

The company cited ongoing supply challenges and said Marmite is unavailable across local supermarkets as the brand is discontinued in Singapore.

Unilever has stopped supplying Marmite in Singapore, leaving local consumers unable to buy the yeast extract through supermarkets, according to SCMP Economy.

The distributor told CNA on Tuesday that it understands some consumers are disappointed by the current unavailability of Marmite and said it has made the decision to discontinue the brand in Singapore following ongoing supply challenges.

Marmite, made from beer brewing by-products, was invented in 1902, and its official UK site says it was later used as a dietary supplement during World War II.

Unilever said it will no longer provide the product locally while thanking Marmite fans for their continued support.
