Astra Microwave shares jump after HAL places ₹2,205.23 crore radar order
The defence electronics firm said it will deliver 122 Active Antenna Array Units and 121 Interface Frames over five years, lifting order book coverage nearly to its existing ₹2,610 crore level as of March 31, 2026.
Astra Microwave Products shares surged nearly 14% to a record high of ₹1,960 in early trade after the company announced a ₹2,205.23 crore domestic order from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Uttam Radar programme, LiveMint Markets reported.
The contract covers the procurement of equipment for the programme and includes all applicable taxes and GST. Under the deal, Astra Microwave will supply 122 Active Antenna Array Units and 121 Interface Frames, with execution planned over a five-year period, according to the company.
Astra Microwave said HAL is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence. The company also clarified that its promoters and promoter group companies have no interest in HAL with respect to the contract, and that the transaction does not qualify as a related-party transaction.
LiveMint Markets added that the order is close to Astra Microwave’s total order book of ₹2,610 crore as of March 31, 2026, strengthening revenue visibility. The shares marked what the outlet described as its strongest single-day rise in more than four years, after the stock’s recovery from a ₹835.90 52-week low at the end of March.
