BTS return to North America for 14 US concerts this August and September
Concert attendance tied to BTS shows is expected to generate large local spending, with Tourism Economics estimating $340 million in economic activity in Las Vegas from four sold-out May performances.
BTS is set to return to North America for 14 concerts across six US cities in August and September, following its first world tour in four years.
The Guardian Business reports that the K-pop group’s return is expected to deliver a sizable economic boost for host cities, supported by fan spending after the March release of BTS’s sixth album, Arirang.
In Las Vegas, concertgoers who attended four sold-out shows in May generated an estimated $340 million in economic activity, spanning activity at large hotels on the Las Vegas Strip and smaller venues in Chinatown.
For New York area plans, the outlet said HYBE partnered with local businesses and cultural centers through “BTS The City – Arirang,” with the Korean Cultural Center New York serving as a hub for fan programming ahead of two MetLife Stadium concerts in New Jersey on August 1 and 2.
