Bybit expands tokenized US stocks as loan collateral

Bybit says six tokenized stocks, including Nvidia, Tesla, Alphabet, and Apple, can be used for margin trading and borrowing via its Unified Trading Account and Crypto Loans, subject to lending terms and availability.

Dubai-based crypto exchange Bybit has enabled six tokenized US stocks to be used as collateral for margin trading and lending products, extending the use of tokenized equities in its platform. The exchange said eligible retail and institutional users can pledge tokenized shares including Nvidia (NVDAX), Robinhood (HOODX), Circle (CRCLX), Tesla (TSLAX), Alphabet (GOOGLX), and Apple (AAPLX).

The update covers collateral use across Bybit’s Unified Trading Account, Crypto Loans, and Institutional Loans, with the offering available only under Bybit’s lending terms and where products are available. Bybit did not indicate changes to tokenization mechanics in the announcement beyond expanding the supported collateral assets.

Bybit previously introduced tokenized stocks through its xStocks offering in June in partnership with tokenization platform Backed, listing more than 60 tokenized US stocks and exchange-traded funds on its spot market. The company said those assets are backed 1:1 by the underlying securities held by a regulated custodian.

The move also follows broader industry expansion of tokenized equities as collateral. Cointelegraph notes Kraken began accepting select tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds as collateral earlier this month, and Bitget introduced tokenized-stock collateral for futures margin in June before expanding to crypto loans in July, while RWA.xyz data cited by Cointelegraph shows total distributed value rising from about $361 million in late July 2025 to about $1.72 billion today.
