Iran warns US it will face consequences after Qeshm attack deaths
Iranian state media said a couple and their child were killed in the US attack on a residential building on Qeshm Island, while the IRGC later claimed responsibility for an attack on a military base in Kuwait.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the United States would “pay the price” for the deaths of Iranian civilians in an attack on Qeshm Island, according to an FXStreet write-up citing Al Jazeera.
Iran’s state media reported that a couple and their child were killed in a US attack on a residential building on Qeshm, and Ghalibaf described the incident as part of a broader pattern of atrocities.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, also claimed responsibility late Thursday for an attack on a military base in Kuwait, with Fars news agency saying the Ali al-Salem airbase, which hosts the US air force, was targeted and that two drone hangars and a fuel tank were destroyed.
At the time of writing, West Texas Intermediate crude was down 1.2% on the day to $82.6, underscoring how escalating military tensions can quickly spill into market pricing.
