Robinhood crypto revenue drops while options and event trading rise

In Q2 2026, crypto revenue slid 38% year over year to $100 million and fell to 12.9% of transaction-based revenue, while options rose to $342 million.

Robinhood reported that its crypto-related transaction revenue shrank in the second quarter of 2026, falling 38% year over year to $100 million. The company said crypto accounted for just 12.9% of its transaction-based revenue for the quarter, after contributing a much larger share in the prior period.

Crypto transaction revenue had been $358 million in the fourth quarter of 2024, when it made up about 53% of Robinhood’s $672 million transaction-based revenue. In Q2 2026, options generated $342 million and event contracts brought in $156 million, while equities added $129 million.

Across those categories, options and other non-crypto activities made up 81% of the transaction revenue segment, the outlet noted, versus crypto’s smaller role. Robinhood also reported $40 billion in total crypto notional volume for the quarter, and said the Robinhood app contributed $18 billion of that total, down 35% year over year, with Bitstamp contributing $22 billion.

CryptoSlate also described how Robinhood’s broader crypto and token infrastructure is being built across Bitstamp, Robinhood Wallet, and Robinhood Chain, including a July 1 public mainnet launch for Robinhood Chain on an Arbitrum-based layer-2 network. The story said spot DEX volume on Robinhood Chain reached nearly $370 million on July 29, driven mainly by memecoins after CASHCAT reached a reported $227 million market cap.
