Ctrl Wallet to stop transfers, swaps and dApps on Aug. 3
Ctrl says users can only export recovery phrases after Aug. 3, with no exact cutoff time listed.
Ctrl Wallet is ending full service for its non-custodial app, with sending, receiving, swaps and dApp connections set to stop on Aug. 3, according to a deprecation notice cited by CryptoSlate.
The notice says installed copies keep all functions through Aug. 2, but it lists calendar dates only, with no timezone or exact cutoff hour. CryptoSlate reports that waiting for a specific time on Monday could leave users missing the transfer window.
Ctrl markets the wallet as supporting more than 2,500 blockchains and says it is trusted by more than 600,000 people, though it does not provide a verified tally of active or affected users.
CryptoSlate reports that after Aug. 3, recovery-phrase export is the only expected functionality. It also warns that Ctrl cannot recover a lost phrase, and advises users to either export their 12- or 24-word recovery phrase into a compatible wallet or send assets to addresses they already control before the service stops.
