Microsoft Azure revenue jumps as Copilot adoption lifts results
Microsoft reported fiscal Q4 total revenue of $90.0 billion, up 18% year over year, alongside adjusted EPS of $4.74.
Microsoft posted strong fiscal Q4 results, with growth driven by its cloud business and increased adoption of Copilot, according to an analysis by Yahoo Finance.
The company said Azure revenue rose 43% year over year, reaching $100 billion-plus for the fiscal year. It noted Azure has seen 12 consecutive quarters with revenue growth of 30% or more, and projected Azure to accelerate to 45% constant-currency growth in Q1. Microsoft also reported bookings up 10% and remaining performance obligations increasing 84% year over year to $678 billion, with about 30% of those commitments expected to be recognized as revenue over the next 12 months.
Microsoft said sequential performance growth came from non-AI model companies. In the quarter, total revenue climbed 18% year over year to $90 billion, while adjusted earnings per share rose 23% to $4.74. The results beat consensus expectations for $87.62 billion in revenue and $4.24 in adjusted EPS, per LSEG figures cited by Yahoo Finance.
For its other segments, Microsoft reported “intelligent cloud” revenue, including Azure and GitHub, up 32% year over year to $39.3 billion. Yahoo Finance also said Microsoft introduced a usage-based pricing model for GitHub Copilot, helping drive a 60% sequential increase in Copilot revenue and seat expansion, while the productivity and business processes segment revenue rose 14% year over year to $37.8 billion.
