Salesforce highlights agentic AI momentum as quarterly revenue rises
The company said fiscal 2027 second-quarter revenue at the guidance midpoint is $11.31 billion, implying 10% to 11% year-over-year growth.
Salesforce is pointing to agentic AI as a driver of customer adoption and growth after its shares declined earlier in the year amid fears that AI would replace parts of the SaaS market, according to Yahoo Finance.
The outlet reports Salesforce told investors that agentic AI is the biggest growth opportunity for its customers, and it has described progress including Agentforce annual recurring revenue surpassing $1 billion, plus 3.8 billion agentic work units delivered to customers. Salesforce also said fiscal 2027 first-quarter revenue rose 13% year over year, with agentic AI contributing to usage gains, including 111% sequential growth in agentic work units.
Yahoo Finance further notes Salesforce anticipates how the ramp in agentic AI could translate into higher plans and revenue, including Agentforce and Data 360 annual recurring revenue surging more than 200% year over year. The company guided to $11.31 billion in revenue at the midpoint of fiscal 2027 second-quarter expectations, which implies 10% to 11% year-over-year growth, and it expects 11% year-over-year revenue growth for full-year fiscal 2027.
In support of its outlook, Salesforce cited a $33.6 billion backlog of current remaining performance obligations, with current RPOs up 14% year over year, as reported by Yahoo Finance. The outlet also said Salesforce’s valuation has fallen during the earlier correction, trading at a 21 P/E ratio compared with above 40 P/E less than a year ago, while fiscal 2027 first-quarter earnings per share grew 52% year over year.
