Strategy tracks bitcoin’s 200-week moving average as BTC sits near $63,000

Saylor’s Strategy said it is monitoring not only the 200-week moving average but also bitcoin’s premium or discount to the level, with BTC slightly below the average around $63,770.

CoinDesk reports that Michael Saylor’s Strategy has begun closely tracking bitcoin’s 200-week moving average and whether the price is trading at a premium or discount to that long-term line.

According to the outlet, bitcoin was trading near $63,000, slightly below its 200-week simple moving average of about $63,770, a level that the firm is highlighting as historically important for traders and investors. CoinDesk also notes that the 200-week average is based on the average closing price over roughly four years.

Strategy said on X on Sunday that it is tracking the indicator and its premium to that level, reinforcing the long-term average as a potential inflection point. CoinDesk cites Saylor as saying bitcoin has traded above the 200-week moving average 92% of the time since the measure became available.

In the hours after the post, prices reportedly came under pressure, with CoinDesk linking the move to concern over a delay in the Clarity Act’s progress in the Senate. The outlet says the act was not listed on Monday’s agenda, while Strategy reported holdings of roughly 843,775 bitcoin, worth about $53 billion.
