El Pollo Loco signs lease for first East Coast NYC restaurant
The fast-casual chain will take 2,400 square feet in Jackson Heights, Queens, with an expected 2027 opening.
El Pollo Loco has signed a 10-year lease to open its first-ever East Coast location in New York City, Commercial Observer reports. The restaurant will occupy 2,400 square feet at 37-07 82nd Street in Jackson Heights, Queens, and is expected to open in 2027.
The asking rent was not disclosed, but Jackson Heights retail listings typically average $45 to $65 per square foot, according to data cited from RI Manhattan Realty. Ripco Real Estate’s Dillon Ross and Jon Paul Pirraglia represented the tenant, while Anthony Pastecchi of Kent Realty represented the landlord, Hampton Associates.
The new site will be in ground-floor retail space along 82nd Street that previously housed a Burger King. El Pollo Loco said bringing the brand to the area is a milestone as it expands into a major retail and restaurant market, highlighting the neighborhood’s foot traffic and customer base.
El Pollo Loco is known for Mexican-style grilled chicken. The chain has nearly 500 locations across the West Coast, including in states such as California, Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada, Texas, and Utah.
