Former Microsoft campus near Costco HQ eyed for conversion into apartments

The proposal would repurpose 410,848 square feet of vacant Microsoft office space near Costco’s Issaquah headquarters into 262 apartments.

Connect Commercial Real Estate reports that two vacant office buildings near Costco’s Issaquah headquarters could be converted from corporate workspace into a residential development.

The plan from Vintage Housing, a Newport Beach, California-based developer, would repurpose 410,848 square feet of vacant Microsoft office space. If approved, the project would create 262 apartments by reusing two of the three buildings in the office park known as The ParQ.

Microsoft vacated the buildings after its lease expired in 2023. The third building has been fully leased by Costco since 2014, and it was acquired for $61.8 million in 2024.

ConnectCRE also notes that the landlord is an affiliate of Kennedy Wilson, the majority owner of Vintage Housing. CBRE previously marketed the two buildings for lease, and the redevelopment plan would transition the former corporate campus to a residential community.
