Ignite Specialty Risk launches Australian operations, appoints legal lead
Ignite said the move is part of its international expansion, with the new head based in Sydney to support broker and legal relationships in Australia.
Ignite Specialty Risk, a specialty risk insurance provider, has announced the launch of its Australian operations and named Lucinda Stormont-Sainsbury as Head of Australian Operations.
Based in Sydney, Stormont-Sainsbury is tasked with supporting Ignite’s expansion in Australia and building relationships across the local insurance, legal, and advisory sectors, according to Reinsurance News.
The appointment draws on more than 15 years of experience spanning commercial litigation and insurance work across underwriting, claims, and legal roles, including prior work at HDI Global SE as Senior Legal Counsel and earlier roles that included Underwriter for Contingent Legal Risk Insurance at Liberty Global Transaction Solutions and 12 years at Clyde & Co.
Ignite’s Chief Underwriting Officer David Green said Australia is an important strategic market and that establishing local operations marks a milestone in the firm’s international growth, while Stormont-Sainsbury said the market has an increasingly complex risk landscape and that she looks forward to developing relationships as Ignite introduces specialist solutions.
