Trump Media launches Truth API, charging Wall Street for faster posts
The paid data feed is designed to deliver real-time access to top Truth Social accounts in milliseconds, with institutional rollout expected on August 1.
BBC Business reports that Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent of Truth Social, launched a paid service called Truth API aimed at giving Wall Street and institutional investors faster access to posts from the platform’s most influential accounts.
The company said the service provides real-time delivery of posts in milliseconds, targeting high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms that it says are most affected by delays in information. TMTG also said it expects the service to create a new revenue stream for the currently loss-making firm.
The timing is planned for institutional availability on August 1. The Financial Times previously reported that customers could be charged as much as $100,000 a month for high-speed access, though TMTG has not confirmed that figure.
The move has also raised legal and ethical questions, including whether it is appropriate for a company in which the president’s family remains the majority shareholder to profit from information tied to the president’s public statements, BBC Business notes.
