US and UK pledge closer stablecoin and digital asset regulatory cooperation

The July 8 UK-US Financial Regulatory Working Group meeting in London focused on GENIUS Act implementation, digital asset market structure work, and cross border payments modernization.

US and UK regulators reiterated their commitment to closer financial regulatory cooperation for digital assets during the 13th meeting of the UK-US Financial Regulatory Working Group in London on July 8, according to a joint statement summarized by Cointelegraph.

Officials discussed implementation of the US GENIUS Act, progress on digital asset market structure, and efforts aimed at payment modernization. They also discussed the G20 Cross border Payments Roadmap as part of broader coordination on cross border financial flows.

The joint statement said US participants updated their UK counterparts on ongoing work around the GENIUS Act and related digital asset policy efforts, while emphasizing financial stability and international regulatory cooperation.

Cointelegraph noted that the meeting did not announce new policy measures, but it reinforced a shared approach that supports “responsible” digital asset innovation while coordinating regulation across stablecoins and other areas of the digital asset industry.
