BitMart sets Aug. 8 US withdrawal deadline as compliance checks tighten
U.S.-covered users must cancel orders, close positions, and withdraw eligible balances by 23:59 UTC on Aug. 8, with BitMart warning it may further restrict accounts after that date.
BitMart has set an Aug. 8 deadline for crypto withdrawals by users covered under its U.S. compliance rules, requiring affected users to act before 23:59 UTC. CryptoSlate reports the U.S. notice applies to people who reside in or are located in the United States, along with others BitMart treats as U.S. users under its agreement and policies.
Covered users are instructed to cancel outstanding orders, close applicable positions, redeem or withdraw eligible product balances, and remove remaining assets. The exchange says some users may need to convert assets that are not supported by their intended destination and may face identity verification, source-of-funds information, proof of destination wallet ownership, or a security review.
BitMart also warned that after the Aug. 8 deadline it may further restrict affected accounts, and that withdrawals may still remain under compliance checks even if requests are submitted near the cutoff, since it did not provide a maximum processing time. It added that any remaining assets will be handled under applicable law, the user agreement, and its compliance procedures.
The U.S. timeline runs alongside BitMart’s broader wind-down schedule, which includes gradual suspensions starting July 26 at 01:30 UTC and an end to spot, futures, and other trading at 01:00 UTC on Aug. 26. CryptoSlate notes BitMart recommends users submit withdrawal requests before 05:00 UTC on Aug. 26, and says withdrawals not completed by then will enter a dedicated procedure with specific arrangements and documentation still to be specified.
