BSVO ETF targets smaller, cheaper value stocks with systematic screening

The EA Bridgeway Omni Small-Cap Value ETF holds about 600 names and uses a valuation screen across the entire universe rather than sector-by-sector.

Yahoo Finance profiles Bridgeway’s approach to small-cap value investing through the EA Bridgeway Omni Small-Cap Value ETF, known as BSVO, and its co-CIO, Elena Khoziaeva, CFA.

The article says Bridgeway has a research culture built around debate and learning, including a policy that caps partner pay so no partner earns more than 7 times the lowest-paid employee, and it gives away half of profits to a foundation focused on fighting genocide.

On BSVO specifically, the ETF has a 15-year track record, evolving from a mutual fund in 2010 to an ETF wrapper in 2023, and it holds roughly 600 stocks, with an average market cap under $3 billion.

Yahoo Finance also points to small value’s valuation gap, citing small value trading around a 14 to 15 P/E versus large growth in the 30s, and notes that Q1 2026 saw small value up 5% while large growth fell 10%.
