Circle selects major financial firms as Arc validators for Sept. 16 mainnet

Arc’s public mainnet is set to launch on September 16, with 11 validator institutions joining Circle and the network’s testnet having processed more than half a billion transactions.

Circle has named a validator cohort for its Arc blockchain public mainnet, which is scheduled to open on September 16, bringing together Circle and 11 institutions that will run validators alongside the company.

The lineup includes BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, Global Payments, ICE, Mastercard, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Corporation, and Visa, according to Decrypt. Circle said BlackRock is expected to deploy BUIDL on Arc, while DTCC plans to enable tokenization of assets it custodies starting in the second half of 2027.

Circle also said Arc’s testnet has processed more than half a billion transactions across nearly 3 million wallets, and it positioned the validator group as uniquely suited to the network’s launch.

Separately, on its Q2 results call, Circle reported total revenue and reserve income of $701 million, net income of $48 million, and USDC in circulation of $73.3 billion, with on-chain transaction volume of $14.8 trillion. Decrypt reported Circle’s share of the fiat-backed stablecoin market slipped to 27% and that CEO Jeremy Allaire said digital asset markets have seen significant weakness.
