India firms post robust Q1 FY27 revenue growth despite uneven demand
Aggregate revenue across 741 companies rose 16.3% year on year in the June quarter, while profit increased 2.5%.
India Inc. reported a mixed but generally resilient set of June quarter results in Q1 FY27, with several companies delivering strong top-line expansion despite an uncertain global macroeconomic environment, according to LiveMint Markets analysis.
LiveMint Data Research desk said only a handful of companies recorded year on year revenue growth above 25% in Q1 FY27. About 31% of firms posted revenue growth above 25%, with 14.8% exceeding 50% and 16.3% in the 25% to 50% range, while roughly 29% posted growth of 10% to 25%. Nearly 20% reported single-digit revenue growth between 0% and 10%, and about 20% were a drag on overall performance with revenue declines year on year.
At the index level, LiveMint Data Research desk reported aggregate revenue across 741 companies climbed 16.3% year on year, even as aggregate profit rose a modest 2.5%. The analysis also noted that earnings strength appeared across multiple sectors, including chemicals, cables and wires, defence, automobiles, and real estate, rather than being confined to one industry.
Among individual standouts cited, Laxmi Organic Industries reported a 216.6% jump in consolidated net profit to ₹67.72 crore in Q1 FY27, up from ₹21.39 crore in the corresponding quarter, reflecting the profitability gains alongside sales growth. The analysis also referenced dividend payouts announced by some companies alongside their quarterly results.
