Marex backs Digital Prime to grow institutional crypto lending platform
The investment will fund development of Tokenet, which earlier posted more than $1 billion in lending inventory and borrowing demand from launch partners.
Marex Group, a Nasdaq-listed financial services firm, has invested an undisclosed amount in Digital Prime Technologies to expand its institutional digital assets business, according to Cointelegraph.
The firms said the funding will support ongoing development of Tokenet, a digital asset lending and borrowing platform built by Digital Prime in partnership with EquiLend.
Cointelegraph reports that Digital Prime previously said Tokenet had surpassed $1 billion in lending inventory and more than $1 billion in borrowing demand from its launch partners, figures that reflect available assets and expressed borrowing interest rather than completed loans.
Launch partners named by Cointelegraph included Galaxy Digital and Ripple Prime, and it noted that other major institutions, including Barclays, BNY, and Wells Fargo, have also been investing across different parts of crypto market infrastructure.
