Meta launches Muse Code beta, a terminal coding agent
The agent keeps a replay-exact local event log, allowing it to resume precisely after a crash.
Meta has introduced Muse Code (beta), a terminal coding agent powered by its Muse Spark 1.2 model, and it is now available via the Meta Model API and a curl install script.
The agent is designed to coordinate persistent background subagents and maintain a replay-exact event log, which Meta says makes the runtime restart-safe by recording model calls, tool runs, approvals, and edits.
Meta positions Muse Code for software engineering across large repositories, saying it can plan changes, write code, validate results, and use default commands like approval-gated planning via /plan.
In Meta’s own benchmark charts, Muse Spark 1.2 trails Anthropic’s Opus 5 on every coding benchmark shown, while beating OpenAI’s Codex and Google’s Antigravity on most benchmarks, with Terminal-Bench 2.1 scoring 82.9% versus 86.7% for Claude Code on Opus 5, according to Decrypt.
