Block lifts full-year gross profit and operating income guidance after strong Q2
Block said gross profit rose 25% year over year to $3.17 billion and adjusted operating income reached $855 million in the second quarter.
Fintech company Block lifted its full-year guidance after posting a strong second quarter, driven by growth at Cash App and Square, according to Cointelegraph. The company raised its full-year gross profit outlook to $12.51 billion from $12.33 billion and increased adjusted operating income to $3.47 billion from $3.34 billion.
Block reported gross profit up 25% year over year to $3.17 billion, and second-quarter adjusted operating income that exceeded prior guidance, reaching $855 million. Adjusted diluted earnings per share were $1.02, beating the Wall Street consensus of 87 cents per share, the outlet said based on the company’s results filing.
In an earnings call, Block’s chief financial officer Amrita Ahuja said the higher guidance reflects first-half execution strength and momentum entering the second half of 2026. Block also said agentic AI helped write and review nearly all production code changes in June.
Cointelegraph added that the company discussed recent AI-driven changes, including cutting 4,000 jobs in February as part of a restructuring. Block’s business lead Owen Jennings said code changes per engineer are up 150% compared with the start of the year.
