Australia posts June trade surplus, beating expectations
The surplus came with exports rising 9.6% month over month, while imports were down 0.2% after a prior gain of 2.6%.
Australia reported a June trade balance of a 1.929 billion Australian dollar surplus, exceeding the 1.1 billion AUD expected level, according to Forexlive.
The prior month was a deficit of 2.367 billion AUD, marking a notable swing in trade performance.
In the same release, imports fell 0.2% month over month, after rising 2.6% in the prior period.
Exports increased 9.6% month over month, following a 6.9% decline previously.
