Blockchain.com secures Cayman VASP custody license

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority granted the license on July 22, 2026, after a conditional approval in December 2025.

Blockchain.com has secured a virtual asset service provider license from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority to offer regulated crypto custody services in the Cayman Islands, Cointelegraph reported.

The approval was granted on July 22, 2026, following a conditional approval issued by CIMA in December 2025. The license allows Blockchain.com to provide custody services and also supports crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto exchange services in the territory.

Cointelegraph said the company has held a VASP registration in the Cayman Islands since May 2022. It also noted Blockchain.com has pursued other regulatory milestones, including a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation license in Europe and registration with the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

Commenting on the development, Blockchain.com co-CEO Lane Kasselman said the company views strong regulation as important for the long-term development of digital assets, and the approvals help it serve customers across the region.
