EU watchdogs warn of scams posing as crypto firms after MiCA deadline
The Block reports that EU watchdogs are warning consumers about scammers posing as legitimate crypto firms and regulators following the MiCA authorization deadline.
Crypto companies that did not secure authorization by the July 1 deadline are required to wind down or restrict services to EU clients, according to the report.
The development highlights how firms that are out of compliance may also be used as a cover for fraudulent offers targeting customers in the European Union.
