Samvardhana Motherson Q1 profit more than doubles to ₹1,032 crore
Revenue rose 16.7% year on year to ₹35,243.8 crore, while EBITDA jumped 30.4% to ₹2,950 crore and margin improved to 8.4%.
Samvardhana Motherson International posted a 101.6% year on year increase in consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY27, reaching ₹1,032.1 crore, LiveMint Markets reported. The company said it had earned ₹511.8 crore in the year ago quarter, and its board recommended a final dividend of 25 paise per equity share with a face value of Re 1 each.
Revenue from operations climbed 16.7% to ₹35,243.8 crore in the June quarter, up from ₹30,212 crore a year earlier. At the operating level, EBITDA rose 30.4% year on year to ₹2,950 crore, and EBITDA margin improved to 8.4% from 7.5% in the prior year quarter.
The automaker components maker also detailed capacity expansion, saying it operationalised three new plants during the quarter and had 13 additional plants at various stages of completion. It reported capex of ₹31,614 crore in the period, consistent with its full year capex guidance of ₹36,000 crore with a plus or minus 10% variation.
On growth strategy, Samvardhana Motherson said it announced the acquisition of Shenzhen Autocruis during the quarter, aimed at strengthening technology capabilities and expanding presence in key markets. The company attributed its performance to disciplined execution and cost optimization despite input cost inflation and an evolving geopolitical environment, according to the regulatory filing cited by LiveMint Markets.
