Uniswap launches memecoin launchpad on Robinhood Chain, FRONG leads

FRONG had $1.1 million in liquidity and about $20.6 million in 24-hour volume as pools.trade opened on Aug. 5.

Uniswap opened pools.trade, a memecoin launchpad on Robinhood Chain, shortly after 5 p.m. ET on Aug. 5, about four and a half hours after its public countdown expired. The highest-valued token on the platform is FRONG, a frog-themed memecoin that was minted earlier by the same contracts used for the launch.

FRONG traded at $0.0121 as of 6:56 p.m. ET, up 31.9% on the day, with a fully diluted valuation of $12.1 million and $1.1 million in liquidity, according to Uniswap’s index on pools.trade. The site listed 24-hour volume of $20.6 million and cumulative volume since launch of $60.96 million, with 172,694 buys and 152,183 sells across thousands of wallets.

Uniswap said pools is built by Uniswap Labs and that it has not independently reviewed or verified any token or project shown on the platform, adding that the appearance of a token does not constitute an endorsement. The announcement also referenced how Uniswap teased the launch with a night-vision frog video and a timer before pools.trade began loading after a period labeled “DEPLOYING…”

The outlet reported the FRONG contract is a verified ERC-20 with a fixed 1 billion supply, created at 20:16:59 UTC on July 30, and that FRONG’s contract and naming were tied to Uniswap’s teaser video. Uniswap founder Hayden Adams also posted updates as the countdown passed and before the launch thread followed later on Aug. 5.
