AST SpaceMobile launches three BlueBird satellites ahead of Aug. 10 Q2 call

The new BlueBirds expand AST SpaceMobile’s direct-to-device speeds, and the company is set to report Q2 results after the Aug. 10 market close.

AST SpaceMobile announced the successful launch of three additional low Earth orbit satellites, BlueBirds 11, 12, and 13, adding them to its direct-to-device constellation after deployment from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Aug. 5.

According to MarketBeat Ratings, the launch brings AST SpaceMobile closer to its target of putting 45 BlueBirds into LEO by early 2027. The company also said its constellation is now capable of providing double its original peak D2D download speeds, with partner download speeds ranging from 45 Mbps to 280 Mbps.

MarketBeat Ratings reports that the company’s commercial partnerships include AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, American Tower, Alphabet, Rakuten, and the U.S. federal government. Management is positioning the improved performance as a step toward better top-line results as AST SpaceMobile transitions from technical demonstration to commercial revenue.

Investors are now focused on AST SpaceMobile’s Q2 earnings call scheduled for Aug. 10 after the market closes. In May, the company revised its full-year revenue guidance to $150 million to $200 million, above the consensus estimate of $180.8 million.
