DuckDuckGo sells out camera-free 'Normal F***ing Sunglasses' in under a week

The $35 pair went on sale July 30 with polarized UV400 lenses, and DuckDuckGo opened pre-orders for a second batch after the first run cleared quickly.

DuckDuckGo has released a pair of “Normal F***ing Sunglasses” built to have no tracking or sensing hardware, and the first production run sold out in less than a week, according to Decrypt.

The glasses, made with eyewear brand Knockaround, are built on a Paso Robles frame in matte black and include polarized lenses with UV400 protection and FDA-compliant impact resistance.

The product page highlights what is absent: no camera, no microphone, no AI, no battery, and no electronics of any kind, with offline use positioned as a safeguard against surveillance.

The launch follows backlash aimed at camera-equipped smart glasses, and Decrypt notes DuckDuckGo is responding to privacy concerns after public criticism of products from companies including Meta and Google.
