Global X SuperDividend funds highlight monthly dividend ETF appeal

Global Xs SDIV and DIV are designed for monthly distributions, with SDIV reporting $765 million in net assets and a 0.58% total expense ratio.

Benzinga outlines why monthly dividend ETFs have drawn investor interest, emphasizing more frequent reinvestment of payouts and a steadier cash flow profile that can complement other, riskier holdings in a diversified portfolio.

In its roundup, the outlet points to the Global X SuperDividend ETF (NYSEARCA: SDIV), which has paid monthly distributions for 11 years by holding 100 of the highest-paying dividend equities globally. Benzinga says SDIV invests across regions, with exposure largely concentrated in financial and real estate sectors in the United States and Brazil.

Benzinga adds that SDIV has been built since June 2011 and now has net assets of $765 million. The piece also cites SDIVs 0.58% total expense ratio, a 30-day SEC yield of 5.2%, and a 12-month trailing yield of 5.88%.

The article also describes how SDIVs index review happens quarterly and is based on dividend cuts and companies dividend-policy outlook, noting the funds NAV in mid-September 2022 was just over 21.67. Benzinga says the SDIV price peaked in August 2014 at an all-time high of $26.19 and fell to $8.08 in March 2020 during the global lockdown, with the fund appearing to retest that level.
