MetaMask launches self-custodial Agent Wallet for autonomous trading

The wallet is designed to let users cap agent spending and choose between Guard Mode and Beast Mode before transactions run, and it adds transaction simulation, threat scanning, and MEV protection.

MetaMask has launched Agent Wallet, a self-custodial wallet built for AI-powered crypto trading that allows AI agents to execute on-chain transactions within user-defined restrictions, Decrypt reported. The wallet lets users set spending limits, allowlist supported protocols, and select security settings before agents act. MetaMask said the goal is to enable traders and developers to use AI agents to monitor markets, identify opportunities, and trade autonomously, without giving an agent unrestricted control of a wallet. Agent Wallet includes transaction simulation, threat scanning, MEV protection, and gas abstraction for supported transactions. MetaMask also said users can choose between Guard Mode and Beast Mode to control automation levels. The launch supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw, Hermes, and OpenCode, along with Hyperliquid and Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible networks. Decrypt added that the wallet follows MetaMask’s June rollout to about 200 early access users, and it also offers Transaction Protection coverage of up to $10,000 per month for eligible transactions that pass security checks but still result in losses.
