RGA net income jumps 156.7% to $462 million in Q2 2026
The reinsurer reported adjusted operating income of $586 million, up 86% year over year, alongside 7.7% higher consolidated net premiums to $4.5 billion.
Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) reported net income available to RGA shareholders of $462 million in Q2 2026, up 156.7% from $180 million in the same quarter a year earlier, according to Reinsurance News.
The company said adjusted operating income rose to $586 million, up 86% from $315 million in Q2 2025. Consolidated net premiums totaled $4.5 billion, a 7.7% increase from $4.2 billion in the prior-year period.
By region, RGA reported U.S. and Latin America net premiums of $1.96 billion, down from $2.02 billion a year earlier, while Canada increased to $348 million from $339 million. Europe, Middle East and Africa fell to $568 million from $573 million, and Asia Pacific rose to $850 million from $816 million.
RGA also reported investment income, excluding spread-based businesses, increased 10.3% year on year, supported by a larger average invested asset base. The average investment yield was 5.33%, versus 5.31% in the year-ago quarter.
