SBI Q1 net profit rises 10.2% YoY to ₹21,121 crore

Interest income increased 14.9% YoY to ₹46,992 crore, while GNPA fell to 1.47% and net NPA edged down to 0.38%.

State Bank of India (SBI) reported a 10.23% year-on-year rise in standalone net profit for the June quarter to ₹21,121.22 crore, up from ₹19,160.44 crore a year earlier, according to LiveMint Markets. SBI said interest income grew 14.88% YoY to ₹46,992 crore. The bank reported sequential improvement in asset quality, with the gross non-performing asset, or GNPA, ratio declining to 1.47% from 1.49% in the previous quarter, while the net NPA ratio improved marginally to 0.38% from 0.39%. Provisions rose to ₹5,047 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹2,872 crore in the preceding quarter, though SBI said credit cost remained stable sequentially at 0.27%. The lender’s domestic net interest margin was 3%, and whole-bank NIM increased by 5 basis points quarter-on-quarter to 2.86%. On the balance sheet, gross advances grew 18.6% YoY and 2.3% quarter-on-quarter, and SBI said its total business crossed ₹110 lakh crore during the quarter. Deposits rose 9.73% YoY to ₹60.06 lakh crore, CASA deposits increased to ₹22.61 lakh crore, and SBI reported ROA of 1.11% and ROE of 17.87%.
