Shopoff wins approval to redevelop Buena Park site into townhomes
The 13.76-acre project would convert a site occupied by Amway under a sale-leaseback through 2026 into 231 three-story townhomes and duplex units, plus 50 affordable senior units, with deliveries planned for 2029-2030.
Shopoff Realty Investments has secured unanimous approval from the Buena Park City Council for its planned residential redevelopment at 5600 Beach Blvd, a 13.76-acre site in Buena Park, according to ConnectCRE.
The property is currently occupied by the Amway Corporation, and a corporate sale-leaseback remains in place through the end of 2026. The site also contains two industrial buildings totaling approximately 370,031 square feet.
ConnectCRE reports the development is intended to address local housing needs, including attainable options for first-time homebuyers and housing for the city’s growing senior population. The plan calls for 231 three-story townhomes and duplex units across four floor plans.
The project would also include 50 for-rent senior affordable housing units. Homes are expected to be delivered in 2029-2030.
