Visa expands Visa Direct with stablecoin funding and payouts via zerohash
The rollout is built to let eligible clients prefund merchant accounts with stablecoins and send digital-dollar payouts directly, with Visa Direct spanning more than 18 billion endpoints across 195 countries and territories.
Visa is adding stablecoin funding and payout capabilities to its Visa Direct network through a collaboration with onchain infrastructure provider zerohash, enabling eligible clients to prefund merchant accounts with stablecoins and send payouts directly in digital dollars.
According to Yahoo Finance, zerohash will provide the underlying technology plus compliance and regulatory support, while the integration is intended to keep liquidity moving beyond banking hours and give recipients faster access to funds across borders.
Visa Direct already connects to more than 18 billion endpoints across over 195 countries and territories, covering cards, bank accounts and digital wallets, and the company is positioning the stablecoin addition as blockchain settlement inside that existing payment ecosystem.
Visa’s partnership also aligns with its broader stablecoin strategy, including the July launch of the Visa Stablecoin Platform for institutions to mint, hold, transfer and redeem digital dollars, with wallet infrastructure and transaction controls. Yahoo Finance adds that zerohash has raised $104 million at a $1 billion valuation and secured MiCA authorization and Electronic Money Institution status in Europe.
