Berkshire reports higher quarterly earnings despite weaker insurance
The company said strength in its energy, railroad and manufacturing units outweighed softer insurance results.
Berkshire Hathaway’s latest quarterly earnings rose, according to CNBC Markets.
The company attributed the increase to stronger performance across several operating segments, including energy, railroads and manufacturing.
That strength more than offset weaker results from its insurance business, according to CNBC.
CNBC also noted that CEO Greg Abel is starting to deploy Berkshire’s large cash position.
