Insmed shares jump after second-quarter revenue surge

Revenues rose 296% to $425.5 million, while Insmed cut its second-quarter net loss by 96% to $13.2 million.

Insmed’s shares surged on Thursday, rising 33.86% to close at $132.55 after the company reported a sharp jump in second-quarter revenue driven by stronger demand for its non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis treatment, Brinsupri, according to Yahoo Finance.

Insmed said total revenues increased 296% to $425.5 million from $107.4 million a year earlier. The company attributed the gain largely to Brinsupri revenue of $309.2 million, while Arikayce contributed $116.3 million, up 8% year over year.

The performance also translated into a large reduction in losses. Insmed cut its net loss by 96% in the quarter to $13.2 million from $321.7 million, and it said first-half net loss fell 69% to $176.8 million from $578.3 million a year earlier.

Looking ahead, Insmed expects Arikayce revenue of $450 million to $470 million, representing a targeted 3.7% to 8.0% increase from $433.8 million in the comparable period. The company also said investors will watch whether Brinsupri can sustain momentum and whether it expands Arikayce into additional markets, including Japan, while it awaits a decision in Japan for brensocatib in the second half of 2026, Yahoo Finance reported.
