Kraken sets Aug. 27 withdrawal cutoff for delisted tokens before liquidation
Balances remaining after the Aug. 27 withdrawal window will be liquidated between Sept. 1 and Sept. 5, and Kraken warned some tokens may fetch little or nothing due to limited liquidity.
Kraken told clients holding any of 21 delisted tokens that they have until 14:00 UTC on Aug. 27 to withdraw balances, after which remaining holdings move to automatic liquidation. The exchange said the general withdrawal window closing marks the last point where holders can control when their assets leave the platform.
Kraken plans to liquidate remaining balances between Sept. 1 and Sept. 5, based on prevailing market conditions. The company warned that several of the delisted tokens have limited or inactive markets, and liquidation prices could be significantly below recent reference prices.
For token holders who do not withdraw, the liquidation process removes their ability to choose timing, and insufficient liquidity at the time of execution could result in minimal or no proceeds for some accounts. Kraken said it has not promised a specific execution time or price across the five day window.
Kraken also flagged a special case for TEER, saying the project has ceased operations and on-chain transactions will not go through. The exchange said trading and funding remain paused for TEER, and Kraken has kept the token paused.
